Proprietary data is information collected, measured, or analyzed by a brand that is not publicly available elsewhere — including internal benchmarks, client outcome data, survey results, platform analytics, or operational metrics published with appropriate permissions.

## Why It Matters for AI Search

Proprietary data creates citation exclusivity. When a claim can only be traced to one source, that source is highly likely to be cited by AI-generated answers that include that claim.
