AI mention tracking is the practice of monitoring when and how a brand is referenced across AI-generated content, AI search responses, and AI-assisted platforms — capturing both direct citations and unlinked references that indicate AI system awareness of the brand.

## Why It Matters for AI Search

AI mention tracking extends the traditional concept of brand monitoring into the AI layer. A brand may be referenced in AI-generated blog posts, AI-assisted customer service responses, and AI search answers without any of those references appearing in traditional brand monitoring tools.
